LIC Massage Therapy – Licensed Massage Therapist

Welcome to LIC Massage Therapy. The place to come to be pain-free, learn how to stretch for optimum health, and relax in Long Island City.

My name is Raul Araque. I am a New York State licensed massage therapist. My goal is to help and educate individuals. I specialize in therapeutic massage and Active Isolated Stretching (AIS). I received an Associates Degree in Occupational Studies in 2003, from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences, one of the oldest massage schools in the country. I was also one of the massage therapists at The Yale Club of New York in Manhattan, where I saw people from all over the world. My practice has also allowed me to work, with  performers and dancers at the Mark Morris Dance Center in Downtown Brooklyn. I am grateful for the experiences I have been able to have throughout the years, learning the  skillful artistry of excellence when it comes to customer service and creativity at the Frederick Fekkai flagship salon in Manhattan, to Bloomingdale’s NY; finally rounding it off at my favorite public speaking club, Toastmasters International, which has helped me spread my message in educating others. All these experiences has focused me in the best way possible to  stay in tuned with my body and mind, so I can best assist individuals to stay in tune with theirs. I have met and learned from industry experts such as Aaron Mattes (developer of AIS stretching method), Mark Allen (six-time Ironman Triathlon Champion), Anthony Robbins (author and motivational speaker), Dr. Deepak Chopra (author of Ageless Body, Timeless Mind), Stu Middleman (ultra-marathoner), Sally Edwards (author of The Heart Rate Monitor Book, and Zoning- Fitness in a Blink),  Brant Secunda (Huichol Shaman and Healer), And Shari Auth, LMT (creator of the Auth Massage Method).

I have completed many half marathons, nine New York City Marathons, three half-Ironman races, several Olympic distance triathlons and two 5.85 mile swims.

I practice meditation daily, and attend retreats regularly. I have completed three 10 day silent meditation retreats (Vipassana meditation- www.dhamma.org). I believe that speech is silver and silence is golden
